Description

Our client, a growing construction company, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in an in-office role. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in construction accounting and hands-on experience managing the financial complexities of project-based work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close

  • Prepare and analyze job costing reports to support project profitability and financial accuracy

  • Maintain and report on work-in-progress (WIP) schedules

  • Apply and monitor percentage of completion accounting

  • Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting

  • Partner with project managers and operational leaders to ensure accurate project financial tracking

  • Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

  • Help improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with:

  • Job costing

  • WIP reporting

  • Percentage of completion accounting

  • Experience using construction accounting software, such as Foundation or similar platforms

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred

  • CPA is preferred but not required

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
