As a Teacher's Aide, this position will help to facilitate participation in daily classroom activities, perform general classroom maintenance, and implement appropriate behavioral strategies. This will include:

  • Becoming familiar with the IEP’s of all children with disabilities as well as objectives for all students in the class to maximize student learning opportunities and assist in their monitoring.

  • Communicating frequently with teacher regarding student behavior, concerns, successes or problems offering suggestions when indicated.

  • Using techniques employed by the teacher in regard to instruction and behavioral intervention to assure consistency.

  • Completing all mandatory trainings and continue professional growth in the areas of assistive technology, augmentative communication, working with young children, and any other appropriate area as deemed necessary by program administration.

  • Ensuring the safety of all students by maintaining appropriate supervision at all times.

HOURS: 27.5/Monday through Friday/8:45 am to 2:15 pm - school calendar/includes 6-week summer session

STARTING SALARY: $ 16.34 to $ 17.98 per hour

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Experience working with children with disabilities is helpful
