PRN: Rotating first, second shifts, weekends included (8-16 hours/month). May require more hours/week while onboarding/training

General Summary

Pharmacy Technicians assist with preparation and distribution of medications. Pharmacy Technicians are eligible for advanced technician positions based upon job performance and successful completion of requirements for advancement established in the Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder criteria grids.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Pursuant to the needs and offerings of the hiring department, essential job accountabilities may include the following:

  • Receives and stocks deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies

  • Prepares, packages, and labels medications prior to dispensing.

  • Delivers medications to care areas within the hospital.

  • Delivers medications to off-site locations.

  • Manages pharmacy inventory management, including use of electronic inventory management systems.

  • Monitors product expirations and removes outdated stock from inventory.

  • Responds to product recalls.

  • Compounds non-sterile and sterile medication preparations.

  • Cleans and disinfects procedures.

  • Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones and maintaining adequate supplies.

  • Practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
