Position purpose

The Supplier Quality Engineer - Actuators (f/m/d) is responsible for supplier quality assurance across the external supply chain. The role ensures that suppliers, purchased parts, supplier documentation, supplier tests and incoming quality evidence meet contractual, technical and aerospace quality requirements before hardware is accepted for use. The SQA is part of Quality Operations and is separate from QMS governance.

Key responsibilities

  • Qualify, approve and monitor suppliers based on product criticality, supplier risk, capability and quality performance.

  • Plan and conduct supplier audits and follow up supplier audit findings until effective closure.

  • Own supplier NCRs, supplier containment requests, supplier RCCA and supplier escalation activities.

  • Maintain supplier quality requirements, supplier scorecards and supplier quality performance transparency.

  • Coordinate supplier development activities to improve delivery quality, documentation quality and process stability.

  • Review supplier changes related to process, material, sub-tier source, inspection method, test method or configuration before implementation.

  • Support make-or-buy and sourcing decisions with supplier quality risk assessments.

Incoming inspection and documentation responsibilities

  • Own incoming inspection governance from a supplier quality perspective.

  • Define incoming inspection strategy together with Quality Engineering and Quality Inspector / Technician based on supplier risk and product criticality.

  • Ensure verification of Certificate of Conformity, material certificates, inspection records, test reports and traceability evidence.

  • Escalate incomplete documentation, wrong revision status, damaged parts, missing traceability or repeated supplier quality failures.

  • Coordinate disposition input for supplier-caused deviations together with Quality Engineering and MRB participants.

Supplier testing responsibilities

  • Review supplier test plans, acceptance test reports and special process evidence where required.

  • Coordinate witness testing at supplier premises for critical products, first articles or high-risk processes.

  • Ensure supplier test deviations are documented, assessed and processed through supplier NCR / RCCA workflows.

  • Verify that supplier test evidence is complete, traceable and linked to the delivered hardware configuration.

Relevant profile

  • Degree or technician qualification in engineering, manufacturing, quality management or comparable technical field.

  • Experience in supplier quality, supplier development, audit management or quality assurance in aerospace, space, defense, electronics, precision mechanics or similar regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of EN 9100-oriented supplier quality expectations, FAI principles, CoC verification, traceability, NCR / 8D / RCCA and supplier audit techniques.

  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, supplier test reports, inspection reports and material certificates.

  • Strong supplier communication, escalation discipline and ability to drive sustainable corrective actions.

  • Eligibility to work in Germany.

  • Fluent English language skills.
