Description

Project Accountant (Hybrid)

Our client is seeking a Project Accountant with AEC industry experience to support project billing, financial reporting, and contract compliance. This hybrid role partners closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate invoicing, budget tracking, and overall project financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process project invoices using QuickBooks and BQE CORE (or similar software).

  • Review project labor, expenses, budgets, and contract terms with Project Managers.

  • Manage billing for Time & Materials, Lump Sum, and Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee contracts.

  • Submit invoices through client and government billing portals.

  • Monitor accounts receivable, assist with collections, and process weekly payroll.

  • Ensure compliance with client contracts and public agency billing requirements, including IDOT and other municipal agencies.

Requirements

Keys:

  • Project accounting experience. Project based accounting. Looking for someone who has their legs under them no less than 3 years of experience.

  • Must have AEC industry experience (Architecture, engineering, or construction)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Nice to have (not required)

  • Someone with some tax experience. Still a plus

  • Payroll experience still a plus.
