About the role
Burn is looking for an Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial or manufacturing setting. They ensure the smooth operation of electrical components, minimize downtime, and improve production efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities

Observe all aspects of Health, Safety, and the Environment.

Identify, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility machines.

Performs preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and documents maintenance concerns/resolutions in maintenance work order.

Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to Maintenance Manager.

Performs welding fabrication as necessary.

Perform machine shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, welders, pneumatic tools, and electric/manual hand tools.

Performs pipe fitting as necessary.

Ensures that all work performed is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials and work area.

Implement and maintain high level of housekeeping standards (SS).

To accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.

To liaise with other departments to ensure the effective maintenance.
-
Identify, implement, and evaluate training needs for maintenance and production operators.
-
Report back to Maintenance Manager on maintenance problems and/or inability to agreed target.
-
Regular review of maintenance schedule with Maintenance Manager.

Provide maintenance reports to Maintenance Manager upon request.

Attend meetings as and when required.

Report any issues or problems to the management in a timely manner.

Any other tasks as directed by the manager.
Skills and Experience

B.Eng. / HND in Mechanical Engineering ( Essential )

Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing sector (Essential)

Understanding of Mechanical and Hydraulic Presses (Essential)
