Job Title: Mig Welder

Job Description

Join our team as a Mig Welder specializing in welding on mild steel from 12g to 1 inch in flat, vertical down, and overhead positions. This role requires expertise in both tank and pressure vessel welding, with the capability to set up equipment and execute tasks independently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on mild steel in various positions.

  • Familiarize with tank and pressure vessel welding.

  • Set up welding equipment and job independently.

  • Measure, cut, bend, and build frames.

  • Utilize hand and power tools, tape measure, and other measuring tools.

  • Grind and polish welds to perfection.

  • Operate Miller welders proficiently.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of MIG welding experience on mild steel.

  • Proficient in fabrication, tape measure, MIG welding, and blueprint reading.

  • Experienced in welding with flux core and structural steel.

  • Skilled in fitting and assembly processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in reading blueprints and using a tape measure.

Work Environment

Work on a 2nd shift from 4:30 pm to 3 am, with a 4-day workweek schedule. Currently, employees are working every other Friday. The work environment requires steel-toed shoes, eye and hearing protection. Join a team of roughly 80 colleagues in a spacious, well-lit facility with new machinery and high ceilings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

4-10 schedule - try to not work OT but currently working some OT Growing company - they build parts for Data centers, which that industry is taking off In the Iron works district - connected to a golf simulator and bar. Their other facility is Brand new facility with tons of space, great lighting, new machinery and high ceilings. They plan to move everything to the new building sometime over the summer of 2025 80 person shop with a lot of growth discussions to get over 100 employees Welding Manager started as a welder and they moved him into a leadership role. A lot of growth opps at MTL Laid back environment Extremely competitive pay for the market Direct Hire $1 for 2nd shift Annual raises: Don't do a lot of annual raises, they would bump people up throughout the year Benefits and insurances: $500 deductible for medical - company pays 65%, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k Vacation: 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2, can get an extra week per year based on attendance Company outings: Christmas part offsite, full dinner, open bar, door prizes, lunches every 6 weeks. They talk about state of the business and what is going well and not during those Growth potential: Steve (Engineering manager), started on shop floor, most supervisors started on the shop floor in a production role Pay: $25-31/hr and $1 for 2nd
