Job Description

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician, you will be the on-site expert customers rely on to keep instrumentation running safely, accurately, and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and basic repairs while representing the company professionally at customer locations across your assigned region.

Key Responsibilities:

Calibrating temperature, pressure, pH, hardness, ovens, flow, water systems, and centrifuges, along with performing troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Perform NIST traceable calibration services on general process equipment.

Calibrate and maintain a wide variety of instrumentation in regulated environments (FDA, EMA) and under ISO quality standards.

Communicate effectively with customers and management.

Occasionally lead multi-person teams for calibration and maintenance jobs.

Follow company SOPs, customer procedures, and industry best practices.

Maintain accurate documentation and close out jobs with customers.

Use calibration management software; training will be provided.

What You Need to Succeed

Valid driver's license required.

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of relevant work experience.

Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.

Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration.

1 to 3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Weights and Measures license; failure to do so may result in termination.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to learn proprietary software and update information using METTLER TOLEDO programs.

Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 10% on average, potentially up to 25%, primarily by company vehicle or plane.

Must reside within the service territory.

Ability to work overtime averaging 10-15%, possibly up to 25%.

Willingness to work in environments with hazards such as chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, dust, dirt, cold, and fumes.

Willingness to wear protective equipment and clothing when required.

Position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing.

Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier loads by carrying, pushing, or pulling.

Frequent physical movements required such as crouching, stooping, kneeling, and repeated bending for safe and efficient job performance.
