Description: Job Title: Host/Hostess

Employment Type: PRN

Shift: Rotating – (mixed/varied - with every other weekend rotation)

Location: St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE

Position Purpose:

The Host/Hostess provides personalized meal service to hospital patients for the hospital’s Food & Nutrition Patients Department.

As a “Host/Hostess” you will:

  • Provide personalized meal service to hospital patients. Meal service includes but is not limited to: Assisting patients with meal selection, serving meals to patients, clearing soiled and used trays from patients.

  • Responsible for stocking nursing unit pantries with supplies, taking meal carts to and from the patient floors, breaking down meal carts and various other side work duties assigned by management during shifts.

  • Serving cafeteria customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

  • Stocking various areas in the cafeteria and general sanitation.

  • Assisting other cafeteria and patient service staff as needed.

  • Responsible for the record keeping of safe food temperatures and refrigeration temperatures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.

  • Prior Healthcare experience a plus

  • Able to follow oral and written instructions

  • Customer service oriented

  • Effectively communicates with customers, clients and management

  • Ability to do basic math

  • Able to work with minimal supervision and alone

  • Ability to interact with kitchen and supervisory staff​
