Job Description
A Mechanical Technician is responsible for completing the following tasks:
Perform all necessary assembly routines before and after equipment has been painted
Read and interpret blueprint detail drawings and dimension styles
Use shop paperwork, work orders, and schematics to complete machine assembly
Install mechanical components, purchased parts, and sub-assemblies, including drivelines, motors, pumps, valves, and piping systems
Update paperwork to reflect any changes and required documentation
Operate equipment safely - ironworker, small band saw, drill presses, jancey drills, cutting torch, and other equipment, as required
Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for overhead cranes
Operate forklift according to safe operation procedures, including acquisition and maintenance of training certificate
Test-run completed equipment prior to shipment
Other duties as assigned
Compensation: The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
Qualifications
Able to read blueprints
Read 1/8" , 1/16", and 1/32" gradations on tape measure
Convert feet to inches and vice versa
Tool Identification
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proactive problem solver in a dynamic shop setting
