Full job description

You will serve as the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Director at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) in Honolulu, Hawaii Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading staff integration, synchronizing multi-divisional activities, and chairing high-level executive decision-making bodies; directing, modifying, and approving organizational battle rhythms, major program milestones, and cross-functional meetings. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will serve as the Center's lead for staff integration, driving strategic and operational planning among all major divisions to ensure unified mission support. You will integrate staff actions for products and programs requiring Director approval, leading coordination across divisions to achieve DKI APCSS Strategy objectives. You will lead key Center coordination boards and panels, executing duties in accordance with DKI APCSS administrative guidance and the Organization and Functions Instruction. You will advise the Director and Deputy Director on significant issues to ensure efficient and effective operations across all staff functions. You will serve as the lead coordinator ensuring day-to-day operations and programs are executed in accordance with U.S. statute, USG, and DoW regulatory guidelines.
