Pay: $80,000 - $130,000 per year (Hourly)

Summary

ND Energy Services is seeking a skilled Class A CDL Winch Truck Driver to safely load, transport, position, and unload heavy equipment, oversized loads, and oilfield materials using a winch truck. This position supports oilfield operations by transporting equipment to customer locations while maintaining compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards.

The ideal candidate has experience operating winch trucks, bed trucks, heavy equipment transport, oversized loads, and oilfield hauling. Previous crane support or rig moving experience is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A CDL winch truck to transport heavy equipment and oversized loads.

  • Load, position, secure, transport, and unload equipment using hydraulic winch systems.

  • Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and approved cargo securement equipment.

  • Verify loads comply with weight restrictions, permit requirements, and DOT regulations.

  • Perform required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of trucks, winch systems, trailers, and equipment.

  • Inspect and maintain winch cables, chains, binders, rigging, and load securement equipment.

  • Assist the Crane Division with equipment moves, lifting operations, and job site support as needed.

  • Attend and actively participate in company safety meetings and training.

  • Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, crane operators, and customers regarding deliveries and job status.

  • Follow all company, customer, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and safety policies and procedures.

  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, equipment damage, near misses, or safety concerns.

  • Safely perform work in all weather conditions and at customer job sites.

  • Complete additional transportation and operational duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to meet all DOT qualification requirements.

  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

  • Ability to pass:

  • DOT pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

  • Random DOT drug and alcohol testing

  • Background check

  • Motor Vehicle Record review

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Work Environment

This position works primarily outdoors at customer locations, oilfield sites, and industrial facilities. Drivers should expect:

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions

  • Exposure to extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, mud, and ice

  • Uneven terrain and active construction or oilfield environments

  • Frequent climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and walking

  • Heavy physical work

  • Long hours and weekend work during peak operations

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
