Job Description:

Location: 396 Remington Blvd, Bolingbrook, IL (will travel to clinics in Woodridge and Chicago as needed)

Schedule: PRN as needed; Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts; Start time between 7a and 8:30a; One shift per week minimum

  • Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.

  • Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.

  • Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.

  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.

  • Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.

  • Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.

  • Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.

  • Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.

  • Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers. Other duties as assigned.

  • Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]

  • Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]

  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]

  • Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education:

  • Associate [Preferred]

  • Bachelor's [Preferred]

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

  • Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
