Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for a Occupational Therapist to join a team of health care professionals in our newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX.

Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates therapeutic interventions designed to enhance functional independence, adaptive skills, and quality of life. This position plays a key role in promoting rehabilitation, safety, and well-being for individuals with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial impairments while adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and facility security protocols.
Essential Functions:

Conduct evaluations to assess patients’ physical, cognitive, emotional, and social abilities related to functional independence and daily living skills.

Develop individualized treatment plans that address identified deficits and promote successful participation in self-care, vocational, and leisure activities.

Provide direct therapeutic interventions including adaptive techniques, therapeutic exercises, and activity-based therapy.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including medical and security staff to ensure coordinated, safe, and effective care delivery.

Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility, state, and federal standards.

Educate patients and staff on adaptive equipment, ergonomics, and strategies for functional improvement.

Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

Adhere to all infection control, safety, and security procedures specific to the environment.

Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism consistent with ethical and legal standards of practice.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current and active Occupational Therapist license in the State of Texas. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience required; experience in correctional, behavioral health, or hospital setting highly desirable. Basic Life Support certification required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements to include maintaining licenses, certifications, and passing an annual background check.
