What this role is all about

The Engineer performs general maintenance work to ensure hotel physical plant quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained. The Engineer takes care of the building, equipment and grounds of the hotel. This position will perform maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel.

• Paints, stains and varnishes using brushes and rollers

• Repairs surfaces, plaster, trim and sheetrock, sands sandblast and burns as needed old finishes,

• Erects scaffold and ladders as needed

• Ability to mix and match paint, requisitions supplies, refinishing as needed furniture, hangs and repairs wall paper and vinyl

• May also perform other minor maintenance and repairs and/or conduct preventative maintenance duties as needed.

• Ensure that assigned equipment is prepared and operational for the following day’s work.

• Adhere to federal, state and local regulations concerning safety or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policy and procedures to ensure quality, safety, and consistency. Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. May educate and train hotel staff in the safe and proper use of equipment.

• Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc., replenishes supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimizes waste.

• Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.

• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments

• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information Pay ranges from $28.80 to $32. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and job-specific experience/overall experience.
