Salary Range: $125,000.00 To $165,000.00 Annually

nSI is pleased to announce the opening for a Facility Mission Engineer supporting the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC). The MDIOC enables assessment, evolution, and rapid delivery of capabilities required for layered missile defense operations, providing infrastructure for ground test operations, event support, cyber operations, and mission‑critical data services.

This role contributes directly to engineering execution, sustainment planning, verification & validation activities, and cross‑functional integration essential to MDIOC 24/7 readiness.

This position requires occasional support outside normal work hours (nights/weekends) during maintenance windows or emergent facility events, while maintaining an average 40‑hour workweek.

Responsibilities

  • Executing systems engineering processes, including system testing, verification & validation (ESV&V), and engineering review activities

  • Leading acquisition management tasks, process improvement initiatives, and agile‑based project execution

  • Supporting infrastructure and sustainment engineering, including obsolescence management and facility lifecycle planning

  • Performing risk identification and technical mitigation planning based on mission assurance principles

  • Managing configuration and baseline control activities, including engineering review board (ERB) participation

  • Providing technical support across MDIOC mission areas such as modeling & simulation, event operations, enterprise services, cyber operations, and operational test execution centers

  • Participating in planning and execution of after‑hours maintenance cycles and emergency response events

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering execution, testing, sustainment, or technical risk management

  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with diverse technical teams

  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MDIOC systems, test operations, or enterprise services

  • Background in configuration management, ERB coordination, or ESV&V execution

  • Experience in DoD or missile defense environments
