Full job description

As the 3rd Shift Supervisor, Supplies, you will report directly to the Operations Manager. In this position, you will have direct reports, performance review responsibilities, and disciplinary authority. You will provide leadership and direction for all Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, and Cost Reduction objectives with goals for the assigned area of the facility while meeting internal and external customer needs. The supplies department consists of large and small scale custom printing, encoding, and finishing of labels and tags on Flexographic equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented and technical leader capable of troubleshooting equipment and resolving quality and productivity issues with minimal support staff on the off-shift.

Key Responsibilities

Work Location Status: On-site (Miamisburg, OH). Shift Hours 11pm-7am

  • Perform general management duties, exercising authority regarding staff, performance appraisals, promotions, terminations, training, work assignments, and maintaining timekeeping, overtime, and vacation records.

  • Directly supervise employees, monitor work, alter schedules for unforeseen conditions, and control load factors to ensure maximum utilization of capacity, labor, tools, and equipment.

  • Drive key operational measures within the business unit (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Housekeeping, On-Time Delivery, and Training) and implement continuous improvement strategies across all metric areas.

  • Maintain quality control processes, conduct frequent business audits, and ensure standard operating procedures and best practices are consistently followed.

  • Lead 5S activities, housekeeping, recycling programs, and safety initiatives while collaborating with functional areas to resolve problems and reduce manufacturing waste and complexity.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required; College Degree in an applicable field preferred.

  • 5+ years of operations experience in manufacturing, with a preference for prior direct leadership experience.

  • Flexographic print experience preferred.

  • Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and ELS Operating Principles, with demonstrated skill in designing and implementing operational improvement strategies for safety, cost, quality, training, inventory, and services.

  • Ability to manage, coach, and develop a diverse team of individuals performing a variety of tasks.
