Health, Safety & Environmental (EHS) Supervisor

Location: South of Minneapolis, MN

Job Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift

Salary: $75,000-80,000 annually + annual bonus

Kelly Science is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (EHS) Supervisor for a direct-hire opportunity with our client, a leading food manufacturing company south of Minneapolis, MN.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS professional who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and has a passion for promoting a strong safety culture. The EHS Professional will be responsible for supporting day-to-day safety initiatives, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, investigating incidents, and partnering with employees and leadership to prevent workplace injuries and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Monitor regulatory requirements and advise management on necessary compliance actions.

  • Lead and/or support incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, investigations, and corrective measures.

  • Conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk assessments throughout the facility.

  • Review safe work procedures and provide recommendations to improve workplace safety.

  • Monitor employee, contractor, and visitor compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

  • Partner with Human Resources on workers' compensation and injury management.

  • Maintain required OSHA records, including OSHA 300 and 300A logs, injury reports, and other applicable documentation.

  • Coordinate and support the facility's health and safety committee.

  • Collaborate with other company facilities to share safety best practices and implement company-wide initiatives.

  • Help develop and strengthen a positive safety culture throughout the facility.

  • Serve as a point of contact for on-site security, where applicable.

  • Provide guidance, communication, and training to employees and leadership regarding safety practices and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree, certification, or formal education in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field is required.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.

  • Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, hazard assessments, and corrective actions.

  • Experience maintaining OSHA records and safety documentation.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence employees and leadership at all levels.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of EHS initiatives.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer systems.

  • CSP, CRSP, or similar professional certification is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is based in a food manufacturing/production environment and requires regular presence on the production floor.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance required when the weight exceeds this limit.

  • Comfortable working around food allergens, chemicals, and varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and dampness.
