What We Offer
Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medical Group - Waxhaw is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional Saturday coverage 8:00am-12:00pm
Join Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medical Group - Waxhaw as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and help provide compassionate, personalized care to patients. You’ll work alongside a collaborative clinical team while building meaningful relationships with patients and supporting them throughout their care journey.
This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience working with pediatrics patients or in a medical office setting, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply!

What You'll Do
Job responsibilities will include the following:

Serve as the point person for laboratory compliance, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, regulatory, and specimen-handling protocols while supporting blood collection and diagnostic testing procedures.

Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.

Measure and record vital signs accurately.

Administer vaccines following proper protocols.

Perform blood work, including finger sticks; venipuncture is preferred but not required.

Collaborate closely with the physician during patient care.

Assist the RN with managing tasks in the in-basket system.
What We're Looking For

Education :

High School Diploma or GED, required.

Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required.

Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required.

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.

Additional Skills (required):

Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
