Dental Assistant (Pediatric) – Detroit, MI.
Local Pay: $30.00/hour

Shift Details:

Dental Assistant (Pediatric) Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments for pediatric dental procedures.
-
Educate children and parents in oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
-
Take and process dental radiographs as directed.
-
Maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments.
-
Assist dentists chairside during dental treatments and ensure patient comfort.
-
Maintain dental supply inventory and ensure instruments are properly sterilized.
-
Adhere to infection control protocols, OSHA compliance, and safety standards.
-
Provide reassurance and comfort to pediatric patients before, during and after treatment
**Minimum Qualifications **
-
Current, valid, and unrestrictedMI license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
-
One year of hands-on experience as a Pediatric Dental Assistant.

Ability to build trust and rapport with children and their families.
-
Proficiency in routine clinical tasks such as taking x-rays, setting up/breaking down rooms, and passing instruments.
-
Possession of a valid X-ray license is required.
-
CPR is required.
-
Coronal Polishing certification is required.

Nitrous Oxide certification

Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents.
