Full job description

We’re People People. Are you?

We’re Sonesta International Hotels—the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S. (and growing fast 🚀).

With a dynamic mix of full-service and focused hotels across major cities, our diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties means we’re everywhere our guests need us to be. But here’s the thing—we’re not just in the business of hotels, we’re in the business of people. We bring service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and create experiences that genuinely connect—delivering quality, value, and memorable stays across 1,000+ properties in eight countries (and counting).

What this role is all about

First impressions matter — and as a Greeter, you’ll be one of the very first faces our guests see when they arrive. You’ll help create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience from the moment guests walk through the door.

This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, brings positive energy wherever they go, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Whether welcoming guests to our restaurant, event space, or hotel outlet, you’ll help set the tone for an exceptional guest experience through genuine hospitality and outstanding service.

If you’re friendly, outgoing, organized, and passionate about people — we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression upon arrival.

  • Assist guests with seating, reservations, waitlists, directions, and general questions in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Manage guest flow and support smooth operations during busy times in the restaurant, lounge, banquet, or event periods.

  • Communicate wait times, seating updates, and guest needs clearly and professionally.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of entrance, lobby, host stand, and guest-facing areas.

  • Partner closely with Servers, Bartenders, Food & Beverage teams, and leadership to support exceptional guest experiences.

  • Assist with reservations, guest inquiries, phone calls, and operational support as needed.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and help resolve concerns quickly and professionally.

  • Support special events, group dining experiences, and banquet functions as required.

  • Help create a welcoming, energetic, and guest-focused atmosphere aligned with Sonesta’s People People culture.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

  • Previous hospitality, restaurant, hotel, host/hostess, guest service, retail, or customer service experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional personality with a passion for guest interaction.

  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage guest flow efficiently.

  • Comfortable using reservation systems, POS systems, and basic computer applications preferred.

  • Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative and positive mindset.

  • A passion for hospitality, guest engagement, teamwork, and creating memorable first impressions.

  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.
