Location: Mease Countryside Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Safety Harbor, Florida

Status: Full Time

Shift: 5:45 PM - 6:15 AM

Every other weekend requirement

Requirements:
-
RN (Registered Nurse) License
-
RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN
-
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion
-
2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting

BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
-
ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
The Charge Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:
-
Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
-
Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
-
Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.

Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
-
Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
-
Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
-
High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
-
Professional accountability and development
-
Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team

Developing self and team members and sharing organizational information
