EHS & Facility Maintenance Manager

About the Role

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) & Facilities Manager is responsible for the services, programs, and processes that support production and facilities across Conax Technologies sites. This role leads EHS programs, facilities maintenance, facility projects, preventative maintenance, and emergency response support while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and well-supported work environment for teammates.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage facility EHS programs and systems to support worker safety and compliance with applicable USDOL, OSHA, US EPA, and state regulatory requirements.

  • Provide professional EHS expertise and leadership to build and sustain a strong safety culture.

  • Develop, update, and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety management systems, policies, training programs, and documentation.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and employees to achieve EHS objectives and strengthen EHS knowledge across the organization.

  • Conduct plant EHS audits, assess facility risks, complete point-of-work risk assessments, and implement effective controls and corrective actions.

  • Ensure worksites have appropriate First Aid and EHS representative coverage.

Facilities and Maintenance Leadership

  • Lead and manage facility projects, including space planning, resource utilization, building improvements, and future development initiatives.

  • Ensure buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, electrical services, backup systems, and site infrastructure are maintained and improved as needed.

  • Manage vendor contracts, resolve vendor issues, and oversee services such as cleaning, security, and waste management.

  • Manage preventative maintenance and breakdown coverage for production equipment, including use of the Hippo Preventative Maintenance system.

  • Support installation of new equipment, including early involvement in equipment design and facility readiness.

  • Supervise maintenance teammates, including Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance General, and Maintenance Custodian roles.

  • Maintain active communication with Conax Technologies facilities and build productive working relationships across departments, customers, suppliers, and teammates.

  • Use visual management to track projects, measure performance, and support problem-solving at Gemba.

  • Drive continuous improvement using data, KPIs, and cross-functional collaboration to balance priorities, effort, impact, and resources.

  • Remain available for emergencies or urgent facility and safety issues as they arise.

  • Present information effectively to all levels of the organization and create documentation in the Conax Technologies Wiki.

Salary ranges for this position vary by job location and are determined based on experience, reflecting our commitment to recognizing individual expertise and contributions.

Successful Candidate must be able to meet U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) to gain access to technical data. This position requires access to technology that is subject to U.S. export control regulations. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the US and meet the requirements of ITAR.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Applied Sciences, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility.

  • Eligible to be certified as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

  • Previous EHS and/or facilities management experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong project management experience and a successful record of project implementation.

  • Demonstrated people management skills, including the ability to build team capability, develop individuals, and promote teamwork.

Work Environment
