Database Administrator

Job Description

Insight Global is currently looking for a Database Administrator to support one of our largest retail HVAC manufacturing clients in the greater Houston area. This person will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and modernizing enterprise database platforms across on prem, cloud, and hybrid environments while ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of business critical systems. They will support SQL Server and other enterprise databases, drive automation and observability initiatives, optimize database performance, strengthen backup and disaster recovery capabilities, and partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams to improve overall platform reliability. This individual will play a key role in reducing operational risk, improving service delivery, supporting cloud modernization efforts, and helping the organization transition from reactive database support to a proactive, automated, and resilient database operations model. This position is onsite in Waller, TX 4 days/week, and the pay rate will be between $45 to $52/hr.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of Database Administration experience supporting enterprise environments.

• Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration and performance tuning experience.

• Experience with backup/recovery, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery.

• Experience supporting databases in cloud and hybrid environments.

• Knowledge of database security, access controls, and compliance best practices.

• Experience with automation, monitoring, and observability tools.

• Exposure to Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other enterprise database platforms preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and cross functional communication skills.
