Job Description

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a talented Water and Wastewater Project Manager with a passion for water, wastewater conveyance, treatment plant evaluation, design, and construction. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal water and wastewater treatment projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to immediately contribute to an established and successful water practice in the New England Area (Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Rocky Hill, CT) working on a diverse range of technically challenging water resources projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead multi-discipline and complex water and wastewater design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases, including alternative delivery projects.

  • Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects, to approved scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Perform technical reviews and implement AECOM quality standards.

  • Serve as a point of contact internally and externally for projects and clients in the New England Area.

  • Develop and mentor mid-level and junior staff for career development.

  • Have decision-making authority and direct others in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.

  • Lead business development activities, including pursuing new clients and projects and serving as leader of proposal efforts, including technical and cost pricing.

  • Actively participate in water and wastewater organizations through presentations at conferences and volunteering.

  • Travel to and/or work in Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Rocky Hill, CT may be required on a scheduled basis.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 4+ years of related experience in water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping, and collection systems.

  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 1 year.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of related experience in water/wastewater consulting and engineering management.

  • Registered Professional Engineer in MA, CT, NH, RI, VT, ME or ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Previous experience leading scope, technical approach, and pricing efforts for business development activities.

  • Previous water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection systems, and client relations experience.

  • Previous experience leading client and public presentations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and motivate staff and project team.

  • Previous experience leading design build/alternate delivery projects.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00.
