Shift: Night

Night Shift Differential: $2.50/hour

Hours: 7:00p - 7:30a

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Assistant contributes to the patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Actual job tasks may vary depending on the unit or department assigned.

5 South is a fast‑paced medical telemetry unit at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, offering a diverse and enriching clinical experience within a supportive, team‑oriented environment. The unit cares for patients with a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions—including respiratory, endocrine, renal, and cardiac‑related diagnoses—many of whom require continuous cardiac monitoring, providing staff with strong opportunities to develop advanced assessment and critical‑thinking skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent required

  • BLS required prior to orientation completion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
