Full job description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Operates one, multiple machines or automated cells to produce machined products, working under routine supervision. Machines will include CNC Lathe, VMC, HMC, Grinders & Keycutters for Drive Train product.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: Lathe cutting tools of all types; all standard measuring tools and instruments and hand tools necessary to carry out the primary function. Employee shall furnish the following tools: 6" scale and verniers and .0001 dial indicator.

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Receives blueprints, operation sheets and tool layout, and reviews these materials to operate the machine.

Changes tooling when necessary for the job following tool layout and other instructions. Installs workholding when necessary.

Setups for Drive Train Machine Operators will be done by a CNC Setup Operator.

Places work in work holding device, and activates controls to start machine, observing operations to make adjustments as necessary or specified.

Checks dimensions of work, using measuring tools such as scales, calipers, rules, micrometers, plug or caliper gauges or CMM.

Finishes work to specified dimensions within required tolerances.

Fulfills responsibility for dimensional and quality conformance of completed work to applicable specifications and quality standards.

Operates machines, gauges and other equipment relating to the job.

Burrs parts to facilitate completion of primary function.

As directed, assists with general maintenance and care of machine, greases and oils machine on a daily basis.

Keeps machine and work area clean and in an orderly and safe condition excluding work generally performed by janitors.

Prepares work records and other allied paperwork as required to carry out primary function.

Performs all other tasks that may be necessary to carry out the primary function.
