Job Description
We are seeking a Python Developer to support the development, enhancement, and modernization of manufacturing applications built on the Ignition platform. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom Ignition applications, leveraging Python and SQL to create scalable solutions that improve shop floor operations, data visibility, and manufacturing efficiency. The role will involve application enhancements, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and integration with manufacturing systems and databases. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of operational workflows, production processes, and industrial systems. Experience with Ignition Perspective and Vision modules, as well as an understanding of Ignition tags, signals, and real-time data communication between machines, PLCs, and applications, is highly preferred. This person will collaborate closely with operations, automation, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions that support key manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical development skills with the ability to understand business and operational requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Skills and Requirements
3+ years of Python development experience
Strong SQL development and database troubleshooting skills
Experience developing or supporting applications within the Ignition platform
Manufacturing, industrial automation, or shop-floor systems experience
Experience with application enhancements, upgrades, and production support
Ability to work directly with operations and engineering stakeholders Understanding of Ignition tags, signals, and real-time data collection concepts
Experience with SCADA, MES, or industrial automation platforms
