Summary

You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department ofPSNS and IMF.

Duties

  • You will monitor the execution by the Engineering and Planning Department of the Plan of Action and Milestones developed for the specific ship or project by the Project Planning Team.
  • You will act as liaison between the Engineering and Planning Department and Ship's Force, Type Commanders, Naval Systems Commands, other naval activities and contractors.
  • You will monitor fund expenditures, schedule adherence and manning rates associated with the Engineering and Planning Department effort.
  • You will coordinate the efforts of all divisions of the Engineering and Planning Department with other organizational elements of the shipyard.
  • You will ensure funding is provided by the Business Office and requested technical information necessary for the Engineering and Planning Department to accomplish assigned tasks is available.
  • You will coordinate the acceptance of new work that obligates Engineering and Planning Department resources.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing or developing technical engineering work methods and procedures to provide project planning and technical direction to support the execution of ship maintenance and repair projects to include identifying project barriers or recommending solutions.
