EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part time ADR Program and Volunteer Specialist to join the Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers (LIDRC).

Salary: $30/hour

Schedule: up to 19 hours per week. Flexible hybrid schedule may include daytime, early evening, and occasional court-based hours.

Location: 175 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead, NY and 320 Carlton Ave in Central Islip, NY

What drives the core purpose of this job:

The ADR Program & Volunteer Specialist supports the coordination and delivery of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The position is responsible for volunteer mediator recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and support, while assisting with court and community-based ADR programming. The Specialist collaborates with volunteers, court personnel, community partners, program directors, and staff to support effective program operations and service delivery. The position also provides administrative and operational support for specialty mediation initiatives, including but not limited to Small Claims, Surrogate’s Court, and Family Court programming. The position requires periodic travel between Nassau and Suffolk Counties, as well as occasional travel throughout New York State for meetings, trainings, conferences, program coverage, and other agency-related activities.

What are the key responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment & Management

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and support of volunteer mediators.

  • Maintain volunteer records, training documentation, and scheduling coordination.

  • Support volunteer communication and retention efforts.

ADR Program Coordination & Support

  • Support coordination and administration of ADR services and specialty programs, including Small Claims, Surrogate’s Court, Family and Matrimonial Court programming.

  • Serve as Court Greeter/Mediator by providing information regarding mediation services, assisting court users, and conducting mediations as assigned.

  • Assist with scheduling, outreach activities, program logistics, reporting, and data tracking.

  • Maintain accurate case and program records within agency databases.

  • Represent the program at community meetings, outreach events, and presentations, as assigned.

  • Support partnerships with courts, schools, agencies, and community organizations.

  • Assist with general administrative duties, including correspondence, scheduling, data entry, and file maintenance.

  • Support virtual and in-person program operations while maintaining confidentiality of participant information.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of ADR program operations.

What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:

  • Master’s Degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.

  • Completion of Initial Basic Mediation Training required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mediation, court operations, program coordination, volunteer management, nonprofit services, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience working with volunteers, ADR services, courts, or community-based programs preferred.

  • Must have access to automobile and possess valid NYS Driver's License and adhere to all safety rules of the road exercising appropriate driving judgment.
