Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift
Description: POSITION PURPOSE
The RN Nurse – Acute supports Angiography, assisting a Physician or Physician Assistant, in over 60 different procedures.
SCHEDULE:
Part-time benefited position, scheduled for 28 hours per week (.7 FTE)
The unit operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Shifts are a combination of 8-hour and 10-hour schedules, with full-time (1.0 FTE) team members typically working four 10-hour shifts per week.
Patient assignments are maintained at a 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio to support high-quality patient care.
ON CALL REQUIREMENTS: Participation in the on-call rotation is required.

Average call commitment includes three weekday call shifts within a six-week period.

Weekend call coverage is required approximately once every 7 to 8 weeks, shared between the Neuro Interventional and Angiography teams.

Holiday coverage is provided through the call rotation and typically consists of one to two holiday call shifts per year.
Response Time Requirements:

Neuro Interventional and Angiography call response times: 30 minutes

Team members must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when on call and therefore must reside or secure accommodation within the required response radius during their scheduled call periods.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
The Nurses' responsibility is to monitor and possibly sedate the patient, chart the entire case, and educate the patient on discharge instructions.

The Nurse must ensure that the patient has been prepped appropriately for their procedure by assessing patient’s allergies, medications, lab values and giving pre procedure medications as appropriate such as antibiotics.

Nurses will rotate through all radiology modalities including Angiography, Neuro Intervention, MRI, CT, X-ray and Ultrasound.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current Michigan Nursing License
-
Graduation from accredited nursing program (Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.)

BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.

Those with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) or ER (Emergency Room) are encouraged to apply.
