Full job description
Serenity Hospice provides caring and compassionate hospice care services to patients and families throughout New Jersey. Our mission is to alleviate pain and symptoms; foster a state of calmness and harmony; and encourage an appreciation of family, friends, and life experiences.
Serenity Hospice Care is looking for an organized and detailed Medical Records Coordinator to join our team! This position will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and closing medical records as needed for patients as well as assisting the Administration team with ongoing projects.
Responsibilities:

Screens telephone calls, facilitates communication between patients/families and other team members.

Maintains billing report and reviews it daily, ensuring task completion.

Receives all clinical admission forms, distributes copies to appropriate personnel and incorporates originals in the open chart

Maintains all medical records in a designated area according to agency policies and procedures.

Provides back-up documentation as requested to departments.

Verify Physician License & maintains Physician information database and follow-up on doctor's orders.

Maintains admits, discharges, transfers and checks census daily for accuracy.

Audit charts and activity log - report findings to manager.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Experience in Medical Office setting a plus!

Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.

Proficient skills in Microsoft Office.

Experience in Clinical systems a plus!

Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Organized and self motivated.

Monday - Friday Work Schedule (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM)
