Description
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Med Support provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community. This position is responsible for a ssisting with medical appointments, stocking medical supplies, and assistance in keeping all medical documentation files up to date, as well as administering medications as prescribed by physician .
Griffin residence is a spacious Victorian house located in a historic section of Catskill. It is home to eight independent, energetic men, who like to stay busy, while learning the skills they need to gain as much control over their lives as possible. Patience, energy, and creativity are necessary to work here, and if your interests include professional wrestling, X-Boxes, or The Three Stooges, you will enjoy sharing those hobbies at Griffin. A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday - 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 20.51 to $ 22.57 per hour
