Job Summary

Responsible for accurate and quality document preparation, document scanning, data entry and quality assurance of scanned documents. Performs daily processing following established procedures.

Job Duties

  • Receives incoming documents, identifying, and organizing documents by type, distributes to appropriate staff and/or location.

  • Responsible for accurate and quality document processing into the electronic document management system and/or the electronic health record.

  • Required to prepare documents for scanning (including determining logical breaks and unitization of hard copy document) by disassembling prior to scanning and reassembling afterward.

  • Reviews both paper and electronic documents, identifies errors, missing indexing elements and coversheets.

  • Accurately processes batches of documents across all systems and ingestion methods.

  • Utilizes scanning software to create batches, uses appropriate batch class and scanner settings to assure proper filing of documents.

  • Accurately tracks daily prepping, scanning, quality control, validation, and quality assurance productivity via spreadsheets for statistical reporting.

  • Consistently demonstrates proficiency in all processes and meets production rate to department standards.

  • Identifies and troubleshoots needed maintenance of scanning equipment and malfunctions.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Provides support to other team members as needed.

  • Maintains discretion per HIPAA guidelines.
