Job Title:

Estate Sale Listing Specialist (Photography & Cataloging) – Caring Transitions of Schenectady

Location:

Schenectady County and surrounding Capital Region (travel to client homes required)

Job Type:

Part-Time / Flexible Hours (growth potential)

Pay Range (NY Required Disclosure):

$16.00 – $25.00 per hour

Compensation based on experience, speed, accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented team members to help prepare estate items for online auction on the CTBids platform.

This role includes photographing items using company-provided iPads, writing clear and accurate descriptions, organizing items for listing, and assisting with auction pickup days.

The work takes place inside real homes and often involves large volumes of household contents. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in environments with clutter and can remain focused and organized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Photograph items for online auction using company-provided iPads

  • Write clear, accurate descriptions of items using phone-based research when needed

  • Sort, organize, and group items into logical lots

  • Identify useful details such as brand names, measurements, and condition

  • Stage items so they present well in auction photos

  • Maintain organized workflow and meet project deadlines

  • Assist during auction pickup days (typically Saturdays)

  • Work respectfully inside clients’ homes

  • Communicate clearly with team members

Requirements

  • Comfortable working in homes with large amounts of contents or clutter

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability

  • Ability to perform basic online research using a mobile phone

  • Reliable transportation to job sites

  • Dependable and punctual

  • Ability to lift approximately 30–40 lbs as needed

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to learn the CTBids system and company processes

  • Availability for Saturday pickup days as needed

Equipment

Company iPads are provided for photography and listing work.

Employees should have a mobile phone capable of basic internet searches for item research.

Preferred (but not required)

  • Interest in resale, eBay, auctions, or estate sales

  • Familiarity with tools, household goods, antiques, or collectibles

  • Photography, merchandising, or organizing experience

  • Previous estate sale or cleanout experience

Schedule

Flexible weekday hours depending on project schedule

Typical shifts range from 4–8 hours

Saturday availability required for auction pickup days when scheduled

Work Environment

Work takes place inside private homes and may include:

  • High density of household items

  • Dust or tight spaces

  • Stairs

  • Varied temperature conditions depending on home

Candidates should be comfortable working in these environments and able to remain focused and productive.
