Full job description
As the Manager - Plant Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing daily activities of the plant production operations. You will develops and manage production schedules to meet internal volume, cost and quality goals. You will analyze production metrics and make recommendations for improvements and solutions to issues that are identified. You will oversee staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and ensure safe operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:

Manage all plant operations to ensure profitability targets, safety standards, and scheduling commitments are met on a day to day basis

Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determines trends and areas of improvement
-
Responsible for proactive improvement plans to include manufacturing strategies, KPI’s, and new product development with consistent lean mentality approach

Monitor operations expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining facility safety and quality

Develop and execute plant manufacturing budgets including capital expenditure forecasts
-
Management of professional staff including hiring, coaching, mentoring, training and development to ensure best in class performance
-
Provide strong leadership to all personnel to meet and exceed performance objectives and ability to encourage professional development at all levels to ensure future growth and reduce turnover

Remove waste and constraints from the production process, improving efficiencies and enhancing productivity

Communicate with internal / external personnel to develop new product strategies

Manage the inventory process including procurement, receipt processes, location storage/accuracy, cycle counting and replenishment
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's Degree required
-
5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
-
5+ years of managing P&L and capital budgets experience
-
2+ years required of Lean and Continuous Improvement experience
-
2+ years of process controls and statistical analysis experience
-
2+ years of managing quality control programs
-
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
-
Excellent communication and computer skills
-
Ability to teach and train policies, procedures and practices
-
Strong contract negotiation skills with suppliers and contractors

Supply chain management, strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory and warehouse methods and procedures
