Successful candidates bring Bachelor's In Mental Health and Valid NJ Driver's License. Important skills include Work Independently and Work Within Multidisciplinary Teams. Preferred (not required): Supportive Counseling, Psychoeducation, and Develop Relationships.

Hourly:$24.04

Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Job Summary:Provides follow up outreach and/or on-site support services, care coordination, and psychoeducation to individuals who have been involved with law enforcement and may benefit from follow up mental health support services in the community. You will work directly with law enforcement to identify high users of their municipality's emergency services who may or may not require hospitalization or transport to an emergency room but may benefit from linkage to additional resources or services in the community. You will work with several municipalities and report to one or more locations throughout your workweek to assist with fostering a strong partnership.

What You Will Do:

  • Follow up with individuals at risk in-person and/or via telephone

  • Provide supportive counseling, psychoeducation, referral and/or linkage to appropriate MH or SUD services

  • Work to develop strong relationships with Bergen County Police Departments and Emergency First Responders

  • Work collaboratively with the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Program team, and other community programs as needed

What We Need to See:

  • Must have a minimum of a BA/BS degree in mental health, and be interested in working with adults with mental illness and/or substance related issues, experience preferred

  • Motivation to work closely with law enforcement and emergency service personnel to serve the Bergen County community

  • Capacity to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, to develop the role to meet the needs of the target population

  • Valid NJ Driver's license and eligible to be insured under CPNJ automobile insurance policy
