Job Description
Position Overview:
Veritiv is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Operator to support warehouse operations at its Union City facility. This role is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, storing, and tracking materials while ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, be comfortable operating powered industrial equipment, and be willing to work at elevated heights when required.
Key Responsibilities:

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near work site.

Inspects materials for quality/defects.

Able to identify material by part number or written description.

Manually moves materials onto or from pallets and shelves.

Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.

Cleans work area, machines, and equipment.

Assembles crates to contain products when required.

Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.

Adheres to all safety rules and regulations.

Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.

Skills and Requirements

High school diploma or GED

2–5 years of material handling or warehouse experience

Forklift certification (sit-down forklift required)

Experience operating powered industrial warehouse equipment

Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds

Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and at elevated heights
