Job Title: Machine Operator (3rd Shift)

Job Description

This position operates on a 19-days-on, 2-days-off rotating schedule . While the primary schedule follows a Sunday through Thursday structure , candidates must be available to work weekends as part of the rotation. Responsibilities

  • Operate end preparation machinery used in the processing of metal tubing.

  • Remove burrs from inner and outer tube diameters using grinders, rotary files, and other hand tools.

  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met.

  • Verify tube straightness and dimensional accuracy using measuring tools.

  • Read and interpret tape measures and production specifications.

  • Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments as needed.

  • Work closely with inspectors, crane operators, and bundlers to maintain production flow.

  • Move materials safely throughout the facility.

  • Utilize basic math skills for measurements, counts, and production calculations.

  • Maintain production targets while adhering to all quality and safety standards.

  • Troubleshoot minor production issues and communicate larger concerns to leadership.

  • Follow all safety procedures in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Required Skills

  • Experience operating manufacturing, production, or industrial machinery.

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work with precise measurements.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience using hand tools, grinders, and other industrial equipment.

  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to follow written work instructions and verbal direction.

  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred Experience

  • Machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

  • Metal manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or grinding experience.

  • Overhead crane operation.

  • Forklift operation (or willingness to become certified).

  • Material handling experience.

  • Experience working with steel, tubing, pipe, or other metal products.

  • Experience troubleshooting production equipment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility where you will work around large machinery, metal tubing, forklifts, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment. Employees spend most of the shift standing, moving materials, operating equipment, and performing quality checks.

Schedule

  • 3rd Shift

  • 19 Days On / 2 Days Off Rotation

  • Must be available for weekend work

  • Significant overtime is available and commonly worked

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.99 - $28.13/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
