Full job description

Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.

We’re creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.

We're looking for a General Manager to lead our Chinese Expansion. As our founding team member in the market, you will work closely with both of the co-founders to launch and manage our local operations. We are looking for an exceptional, first-principles operator with a relentless approach to business and deep technical acumen. In this role, you will drive our regional expansion, architect our extensive supplier and purchasing footprint, and directly negotiate with top-tier OEMs, ODMs, and critical hardware manufacturers across the entire clean energy ecosystem to secure our global supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the co-founders to launch, lead, and manage our local operations in China, ensuring smooth regional execution and integration with our global business.

  • Drive hands-on quality enforcement and performance tracking across multiple external factories, deeply auditing partner production lines.
  • Assemble and lead an elite local team of experts to scale our regional operations, engineering requirements, and supply chain infrastructure.
  • Serve as the critical, real-time communication interface between Chinese technical and manufacturing ecosystems and our UK teams to ensure seamless product and project integration.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM discipline from a top-tier university
  • Proven track record managing complex supply chains, strategic procurement, or sourcing operations within the clean energy ecosystem or a highly parallel, technical hardware industry (e.g., automotive, advanced electronics, semiconductors)
  • Written and verbal fluency in both English and Mandarin
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple Tier-1 suppliers simultaneously, enforce stringent quality standards, and consistently deliver under compressed timelines
  • A relentless, first-principles approach to solving ambiguous problems
  • Ability to work well individually or in a team
  • Competitive salary and an equity sign-on bonus
  • Biannual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs
  • Paid annual leave
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office based employees
