Electrical Test Engineer

Location: Plainview, NY (Onsite)

We're seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting the development and testing of advanced aerospace systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with 1–2+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience who is looking to build expertise in EMI/EMC testing, aerospace standards, and product validation. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop test plans, execute testing activities, troubleshoot electrical systems, and document results for products used in demanding aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute electrical test plans, procedures, and reports.

  • Coordinate testing activities with external laboratories and test facilities.

  • Perform EMI/EMC testing and support compliance activities.

  • Conduct testing to aerospace and military standards including DO-160, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify root causes of test failures.

  • Operate laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.

  • Record test data, complete documentation, and create technical reports.

  • Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.

  • Document non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure products meet performance and reliability requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

  • 1–2+ years of experience in electrical testing, validation, troubleshooting, or test engineering.

  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to EMI/EMC testing.

  • Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-704, or MIL-STD-461.

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, military, electronics manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.

  • Military experience (active duty, reservist, or veteran) with electrical systems or testing is highly valued.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $43.00/hr.
