DEFINITION The individual in this position provides personal care services to clients in the home setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to add consistent hours to your schedule. QUALIFICATIONS

HHA certification or CNA license (required).

CPR or BLS certification (required).
-
Reliable transportation to travel to clients’ homes (required).

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
-
Must demonstrate a satisfactory level of competency evidenced by evaluation.

Adequate health status to perform described duties.

Must have the ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff.

Must meet personnel qualifications. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
-
Provides direct and indirect personal care to the client in the home setting.
-
Utilizes safety measures in the provision of care.
-
Maintains effective communication with supervisor regarding client’s condition.

Documents and submits accurate accounts of services provided.
-
Observe the client for changes in condition and behavior and report to the supervisor.
-
Maintains confidentiality of all client, agency, and employee matters.
-
Adheres to all Agency policies.
-
Recognize emergencies and demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures.

Adheres to the role of the Home Health Aide in the home setting as defined in state regulation. The home health aide or CNA shall not change sterile dressings, irrigate body cavities such as giving an enema, irrigate a colostomy or wound, perform gastric irrigation or enteral feeding, catheterize a client, administer medication, apply heat by any method, care for a tracheotomy tube, nor provide any personal health service which has not been included in the plan of care.
