What We Offer
Responsible for processing and verifying laboratory specimens, including order entry, specimen preparation, centrifugation, and aliquoting; ensuring accurate and timely specimen handling in accordance with policies and procedures. May perform phlebotomy, assist with staff training, and resolve issues while escalating concerns when needed.
What You'll Do

Perform pre-analytical processing of laboratory specimens, including order entry, specimen verification, centrifugation, and aliquoting

Accurately receive, label, and prepare specimens for testing while maintaining strict quality and safety standards

Perform phlebotomy as needed, ensuring proper patient identification and collection techniques

Support laboratory operations by managing worklists, tracking specimens, and ensuring timely turnaround

Communicate effectively with clinical staff to resolve specimen or order issues

Maintain compliance with all laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Assist with training and onboarding of new team members as needed

Contribute to a safe, efficient, and patient-focused lab environment
What We're Looking For

Education : High School Diploma or GED, required.

Experience : One year of relevant phlebotomy and/or specimen processing /laboratory experience, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Phlebotomy Certification – ASCP, NHA, ASPT, AMT or a national accrediting agency approved by Laboratory Senior Leadership, required.

MLA certification from ASCP, CMLA certification from AMT, preferred.

Additional Skills (required): For facilities where Phlebotomy is a requirement of the role, the certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment.

Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
