Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler is tasked with building industrial sweeping machines by following work instructions and using hand tools. This role involves the assembly of hydraulic, electrical, and sub-assembly parts using tools such as screw guns, sockets, and wrenches. The process includes four different assembly stations that progressively increase in complexity, involving tasks such as installing brakes, tires, engines, lift arms, radiators, hoses, harnesses, sub-assemblies, electrifying the machine, and installing sheet metal and hoppers in the final assembly.
Responsibilities

Assemble industrial sweeping machines using work instructions and hand tools.

Utilize screw guns, sockets, wrenches, and other power tools for assembly tasks.

Progress through four different assembly stations, each requiring 4-5 hours of labor.

Install components such as brakes, tires, engines, lift arms, radiators, hoses, harnesses, and sub-assemblies.

Electrify machines and install sheet metal and hoppers during final assembly.
Essential Skills

Proficiency in mechanical assembly and hydraulic assembly.

Experience with heavy assembly and the use of hand and power tools.

Experience in mechanics and experience with engine repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of sockets, wrenches, nuts, bolts, and screw guns.

Mechanical aptitude from experience in military mechanics, trade schools, hobbies, or manufacturing companies.

Work Environment
Experience a clean manufacturing setting with non-traditional line assembly. Work across 4-5 stations completing multiple assembly processes in a well-lit, safety-conscious environment. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with an additional 3-5 hours of work per week.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampshire, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
