Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable on-site in Westlake Village, CA - no remote option Caldera Medical's Mission - To Improve the Quality of Life for Women! The Opportunity Caldera Medical is looking for a Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable to own the end-to-end Accounts Payable function while supporting month-end close and general accounting activities. This role ensures accurate and timely AP processing, strong internal controls, and reliable financial reporting, and serves as the primary point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders on AP matters. What You'll Do * Own daily AP processing, including invoice entry, coding review, three-way matching, and payment runs * Handle vendor communications and resolve payment, invoice, and statement reconciliation issues * Maintain vendor master data and perform required independent verification of new or changed banking information * Manage PO matching and partner with Operations and Procurement to resolve exceptions * Prepare and distribute the weekly AP Aging Register and follow up on aged or unresolved items * Support month-end close, including AP cutoff, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and close schedules * Prepare assigned balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items * Maintain AP procedures, follow and reinforce internal controls, and identify process improvements * Support audits, compliance requests, and other Finance projects as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of full-cycle Accounts Payable * Experience supporting month-end close, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations * ERP system experience (Oracle Fusion strongly preferred) * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel * Experience managing AP aging, vendor issues, and high transaction volume across multiple entities * Strong hands-on full-cycle AP experience with a sound understanding of AP controls * Working knowledge of accrual accounting, journal entries, and balance-sheet reconciliations * Solid understanding of PO processes, three-way matching, vendor master controls, and payment controls * Strong communication, organization, analytical, and follow-through skills, with a mindset geared toward improving processes rather than only maintaining them Why This Role Matters Accurate, well-controlled AP operations are foundational to Caldera Medical's financial integrity and to the trust vendors and internal teams place in Finance.
