Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic for the LASSO II contractThe ideal candidate is an experienced maintenance mechanic who will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of various chemical baths, ovens, pumps, pressure systems, and other laboratory equipment. This is a full-time position and work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
-
High School Diploma.
-
Five or more years of experience in maintenance of industrial equipment (480V) including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems to identify failed components and make repairs.

Extensive knowledge in mechanical, pneumatic, hydrostatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Ability to work from facility drawings and manufacturer's documentation in troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

Must be able to pass the following KSC-provided physicals: Confined Space, Respirator

Ability to work as part of a team in developing a maintenance plan for the facility's laboratory equipment

Able to work in a clean room environment, enclosed areas, and at heights up to 30 feet

Able to read, comprehend and follow written and oral instructions

Computer literate. Will need to complete work orders and initiate orders for repair parts and supplies.

Certification as a Licensed Electrician.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and repair a range of heated/stirred chemical baths, ovens, vent hoods, pumps, and other laboratory equipment.

Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures.

Assist in developing Job Plans for work to be performed and follow those plans to perform the work.

Identify consumable or repair parts that should be stocked to minimize equipment downtime.
