Job Designation

The CNC Machine Operator 2 performs training in tasks assigned related to program editing, set-up, operation, trouble-shooting and preventive maintenance for CNC machines, custom process machines and production support equipment and perform training in all tasks which are required in the daily operation of the production facility.

Job Core Responsibilities

Operate sophisticated composite material CNC machines by following specific detailed instructions for set-up and standard work.

Monitor, measure, and record quality assurance data including, but not limited to, dimensions, weight, or other specific information.

Must be able to accurately read manufacturing prints, machine drawings and operator's manuals, adjust tooling and process parameters, interpret programs and interact with outside service technicians to solve problems.

Train other associates, as required, in equipment set-up, operation and trouble-shooting along with various other manufacturing processes and procedures.

Operate material handling equipment including hoists and cranes, tow motors, pallet trucks, and other miscellaneous equipment. Monitor and record data and make adjustments as needed to achieve processing requirements. In addition, they must be able to perform troubleshooting while operating equipment, including performing and documenting limited preventative maintenance.

Use calipers, depth gages, micrometers, and other measuring equipment as required in the performance of job responsibilities. They must be able to correctly and accurately utilize computers and the appropriate software programs in the performance of their job responsibilities.

Track orders and, utilizing appropriate equipment, move material to enable the production process to flow efficiently and effectively. They will be required to order production and non-production materials necessary to the normal operation of the facility.

Must be self- directed and flexible in the performance of job duties. They must be able to communicate information, as required, to all other individuals involved in the normal operation of the facility. They must be willing to work in teams for daily production and improvement opportunities. In addition, they must be able to perform receiving, packing, and shipping duties as assigned. They will also be required to perform plant housekeeping duties as necessary to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

They will be responsible for observing safe work practices and maintaining a safe and clean work area.

Skilled at machine change over (SMED) that can accommodate a large number of programs and part numbers

Job Specifications

Education: High school diploma required.

Years' Experience: 1 -2 years' experience with Apprentice Program preferred

Training in set-ups and machining operations of CNC machines.

The candidate must possess detailed reading comprehension and intermediate mathematical skills to accomplish the job requirements.

Ability to proficiently utilize a standard computer keyboard and user-friendly software.

Ability to read and comprehend simple manufacturing blueprints and possess the skills needed to accomplish the print requirements.
