NEWS CENTER Maine (WCSH6) is seeking a talented Morning Show Producer who can write, create and produce engaging content for our dominant #1 Morning Report on television and stream. Our Producers must be able to multi-task during the news gathering hours, and share content on all platforms before, during and after a newscast. Our ideal candidate can identify engaging content and creatively deliver it to our viewers. We want someone who is calm under deadline pressure while news is breaking, able to communicate clearly to our team, and deliver the best, most current information with context.

In this role, you will:

  • Create unique and innovative, fact-driven newscasts and segments with meaning

  • Help manage reporter live shots to make them visual and compelling

  • Write stories in a conversational and authentic style

  • Produce a mobile sort daily

  • Field Produce during major news events

  • Calmly excel during breaking news situations

  • Skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content

  • Enterprise news stories for broadcast and digital

  • Use creative production techniques, graphics, and viewer pictures/videos, Zoom/Teams interviews to enhance stories

  • Lead and inspire news team to work together for a great newscast

  • Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or Executive Producer

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field

  • 1-3 years broadcast new producing

  • Experience with CUEZ preferred

  • Knowledge of AXIS Graphics, EDIUS helpful

Pay Range $24—$26.50 USD

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
