Aspirus Regional Cancer Center in Wausau, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse - Clinic II (TEAM LEAD) to join our Medical Oncology team!

This position may be eligible for a Sign on Bonus!

The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while incorporating evidence-based practice. This unique Medical Oncology RN position offers a blend of clinic nursing and hands-on infusion nursing care, providing the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their cancer journey while utilizing critical thinking and advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include patient assessment, symptom management, treatment coordination, patient education, administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, blood products, and other supportive treatments, as well as assessment and management of treatment side effects, toxicities, and acute patient needs. The Medical Oncology RN works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to oncology patients while practicing at the top of their nursing scope. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of care through the collection, analysis, and application of data to support exceptional patient outcomes.

In the absence of, and in support of onsite leadership, the Clinic Registered Nurse Specialist assumes an active role in providing guidance and assistance with clinic operations of regional sites and services . In collaboration with the formal leadership team, the Clinic Registered Nurse Specialist is a liaison for overseeing the functioning of the clinic/department which includes participation in direct patient care as well as ensuring appropriate resources to provide safe, high quality patient care.

Hours: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period, Day only (Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm or Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm)

Experience/Qualifications

  • Associate degree in nursing required .

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

  • Certification in area of specialty is desired.

  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a practicing RN of which one year has been a leadership role or relevant experience preferred.

  • Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license.

  • Current CPR certification, or within 90 days of hire . All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training through independent study, manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED .
