Full job description

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: analyzing financial and accounting operations to recommend process improvements; monitoring and evaluating financial systems to identify weaknesses and ensure compliance with internal controls; conducting reviews of financial policies, guidelines, data and documents in order to analyze the impact of financial legislation on finance/accounting operations; analyzing and evaluating operation reports from financial systems; and/or providing recommendations to management on improving finance/accounting operations. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. Manages, directs and executes finance and accounting operations for a variety of customers requiring the development of policies and procedures unique to each serviced organization in an environment of constantly changing priorities and missions. Exercises accountability and leadership oversight of audits and operational reviews to ensure correct and proper execution of DoD guidance, policies, and procedures with respect to finance and accounting operations. Assists with resolving complex functional problems and affected customers. Coordinates and participates in the development and presentation of program training. Plans, manages and supervises the assigned division staff which consists of supervisory, and technical and clerical personnel (GS-05/GS-06 or GS-07). Education Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
